UAE to begin visa issuance to Nigerians as FG lifts ban on Emirates Airlines
Hadi Sirika, the minister of aviation, announced on Tuesday that the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will commence visa issuance to Nigerians based on some conditions. “UAE has written to state that they agree to issue visas to Nigerians, consequently decision has been reached to allow Emirates to fly into Nigeria. Commencement of the visa issuance is condition precedent,” Sirika tweeted. Read more
Google launches Chromecast with Google TV
Alphabet Inc’s Google, some hours ago, launched Chromecast with Google TV, a hardware platform designed to show contents from leading streaming services like Walt Disney Co’s Disney+ and the most popular streaming service company, Netflix. The tech juggernaut unveiled the Chromecast streaming device that now comes with a remote control. It will cost $49.99 in the U.S, and will be available in other countries by the end of 2020. Nigeria spends $1.5bn on milk importation annually, says agric ministry
Abdulkadir Mu’azu, FMARD permanent secretary, provided the figure while speaking at the inception workshop of Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) of the United Nations Technical Cooperation Project(TCP). The workshop focused on the implementation of the national livestock transformation plan in Niger and Kaduna states. Read more

NAFDAC to ban production of alcohol in sachets
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), has announced plans to totally ban the production of alcohol drinks in sachets by 2023/2024. While making the disclosure to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, the Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, said that the banning of the product would be done in phases. Fitch revises Nigeria’s outlook to stable
Fitch Ratings has revised the outlook on Nigeria’s long-term foreign-currency Issuer Default Rating to stable from negative and affirmed the IDR at ‘B’. The international rating firm disclosed this in its report on Wednesday entitled ‘Fitch revises Nigeria’s outlook to stable, affirms at ‘B’.’ Read more
