MTN Group makes final exit from Jumia, rakes in $138m
MTN Group has completed its exit from Jumia, a leading e-commerce platform in Africa, selling its 18.9 percent stake and raising $138 million from the deal. This was contained in the MTN Group third quarter for 2020 (Q3 2020) financial report, released on Friday. Read more

Nigerian Breweries to pay N1.9b dividend on Q3 earnings
THE board of directors of Nigerian Breweries (NB) Plc has earmarked about N1.9 billion for distribution to shareholders as interim cash dividend after the company posted net profit of N7.05 billion in third quarter. Shareholders will receive a dividend per share of 25 kobo. Read more
Electricity: Consumers Kick As DisCos Resume Tariff Hike
Electricity consumers have kicked against the resumption of tariff hike by Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos), which comes into effect on Sunday. They said after two months of high-level discussions occasioned by the suspension of the tariff hike, they were still not satisfied with the measures reportedly taken by the federal government and the DisCos purportedly to cushion the effect of the increase. Umar Danbatta, executive vice chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), says the commission generated and remitted N344.71 billion in revenue to the federal government’s consolidated revenue fund (CRF) in the last five years. Read more
Turkey, Nigeria furniture dealers to hold bilateral business meeting
The Inegol Furniture Manufacturer Association, Turkey will hold a bilateral business meeting with the dealers, importer, and stakeholders in the furniture industry in Nigeria. The meeting is expected to be held online and remotely, which means participants will have the options to either connect virtually from the comfort of their homes, offices or join other participants in a location that will be announced soon. The President of the Nigerian Bar association, Olumide Akpata, has said that Nigerian Governors are well within their rights or the power of the law to set up panels of inquiry to determine if SARS went beyond their boundaries to violate the rights of citizens. Sean Connery Battled Dementia Before Death, Wife Says
Sean Connery's wife Micheline Roquebrune said in a rare interview that her husband suffered from dementia before his death. The legendary Scottish actor, the first to play James Bond in a film, died at age 90 in the Bahamas, his family announced on Saturday, Oct. 31.
