Stephanie oversees CNN Africa's digital's editorial and operational strategy and is passionate about crafting a new narrative for African storytelling. FG to give up majority stakes in its 4 refineries, to be privately managed
The Federal Government has disclosed that it is in talks with some investors to give up majority stakes in the government’s 4 refineries. The disclosure was made by the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari, during a discussion programme on Channels Television on Wednesday, September 9, 2020. 3 bank directors resign from NESG in protest to CBN immunity letter
Nairametrics can authoritatively confirm that some members of the board of directors of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) have voluntarily resigned from their position. Their resignation appears to be related to the recent spat between the NESG and the CBN following a controversial press release that purportedly claimed Godwin Emefiele was seeking immunity. The report also attacked the recent macroeconomic policies approach of the CBN in ensuring economic stability. Read more
NCDC insists passengers must carry out COVID-19 test 96 hours before travelling to Nigeria
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced passengers wishing to travel to Nigeria must conduct a COVID-19 PCR test at least 96 hours before entering Nigeria, in an update on its Nigeria International Travel Portal (NITP). This was announced by the agency in a statement on Wednesday afternoon via its Twitter handle. Read more
Union Bank of Nigeria Plc announces the appointment of 2 directors
Union Bank of Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment Mr Emeka Anthony Ogbechie and Mr Paul Kokoricha as Non-Executive Directors, with effect from May 27, 2020, and August 28, 2020, respectively. In the announcement, Emeka Anthony Ogbechie was appointed to replace Mr Dick Kramer, who retired from the Board of the Bank in September 2019 and Paul Kokoricha was appointed to replace Mr Cyril Odu, who passed on in September 2019. Malabu: FG asks Shell, Eni to pay $1.92bn damages
The Federal Government asked a Milan court on Wednesday to order Eni and Royal Dutch Shell to pay $1.09bn as an immediate advance payment for damages it is claiming in one of the oil industry’s biggest-ever corruption trials. Shell and Eni jointly acquired the rights to Oil Prospecting Licence 245, a Nigerian offshore oil block, for about $1.3bn in 2011 from Malabu Oil and Gas, a company owned by a former Nigerian Minister of Petroleum Resources, Dan Etete. Buhari inaugurates committee for Vision 2050
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Wednesday inaugurated the national steering committee to oversee the development of the Nigeria Agenda 2050 and Medium-Term National Development Plan to succeed Vision 20:2020 and the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan, 2017 – 2020. Mr Atedo Peterside and the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, will jointly chair the committee for the development plan. Read more

Ahmed was speaking on Tuesday during the United Nations meeting of finance ministers to consider options for financing the 2030 agenda for sustainable development in the era of COVID-19 and beyond. In a statement released by Kim Kardashian's Instagram page on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, the Kardashian clan say they have decided to no longer film the E! reality series.
