Olori Boye-Ajayi is a Business and Management graduate, with a Masters in Human Resource Management from Bradford University School of Management. She is the founder of Katie Wang Womenswear supply chain and author of a recently published book, Borderless Trade, a guide for exporting for MSMEs. Olori also launched the Export Community Agency to create Export opportunities for African entrepreneurs.

Joe Biden sworn-in as the 46th President of the United States
Joe Biden has been sworn in as the 46th President of the United States. The 78-year-old Democrat and former Vice president to Barack Obama is being sworn in after emerging the winner of last year’s Presidential elections. Biden’s running mate, Kamala Devi Harris was sworn in as vice president by Justice Sonia Sotomayor, becoming the first woman and the first black and Asian-American person elevated to serve in a role a heartbeat from the presidency. Nigeria overtakes US as India’s fourth biggest oil supplier
Nigeria emerged as the fourth biggest supplier of crude oil to India in December, pushing the United States down to the sixth position just after Brazil. Reuters reported on Wednesday that India’s crude oil imports in December soared to the highest levels in nearly three years to more than five million barrels per day as its refiners cranked up output to meet a rebound in fuel demand, data from trade sources showed. 21 million subscribers still without NINs, say telcos
A total of about 143 million Subscriber Identification Modules are now identifiable to the National Identity Management Commission for registration with their respective National Identity Numbers, telecommunications operators said on Wednesday. Mobile operators also explained that the number of subscribers without NINs was about 21 million, as the deadline for the registration of SIMs with valid NINs draws near. Read more
TikTok’s new Q&A feature lets creators respond to fan questions using text or video
TikTok is testing a new video Q&A feature that allows creators to more directly respond to their audience’s questions with either text or video answers, the company confirmed to TechCrunch. The feature works across both video and livestreams (TikTok LIVE), but is currently only available to select creators who have opted into the test, we understand. Read more
Joe Biden to return United States to WHO on first day as President
The US President-elect Joe Biden plans to immediately return back the country to the World Health Organization (WHO) on the first day after his inauguration as he intends to make a sweeping review of the policies of outgoing President, Donald Trump. This is as he intends to send top US medical expert Anthony Fauci to speak to the group in a strong rejection of Donald Trump’s snubs and criticisms during the coronavirus pandemic. Read more
Nigeria Airways final verification
The Federal Government on Wednesday said that it had commenced the final verification exercise for workers of the defunct Nigeria Airways. It said this in a statement issued by the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning in Abuja. The statement said that the finance and aviation ministries would work in conjunction with the Presidential Initiative on Continuous Audit in carrying out the verification exercise. Read more
Stock market gains N50bn on blue-chip firms
Equity trading on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday closed on a positive note with a gain of N50bn to halt the previous two days’ losses. The NSE All-Share Index appreciated by 0.23 per cent with market breadth closing positive with 55 gainers as against 16 losers. Read more
