#EndSARS: State Governors to set up Judicial Panels of Inquiry – Osinbajo
The Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, broke his silence on the #EndSARS protests to announce that the 36 State Governors and the FCT Minister will set up judicial panels of inquiry that will adopt public hearings. The Vice President disclosed this via his official Twitter handle on Friday evening. He said he had been holding meetings with the Senate President, House of Reps, IG of Police and the Human rights Commission over the nationwide protests. Read more

Following the ongoing protests against police brutality in the country, airfares on domestic routes have increased. The increase in the price regime was reflected by several carriers on weekend flights for one-way trips from Lagos to Abuja. Read more
UBA, GTB, Zenith account for N15.88bn transactions
The most traded stocks on the floor of the stock market last week were United Bank for Africa Plc, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc and Zenith Bank Plc (measured by volume) as they accounted for 88×5.52 million shares worth N15.88bn in 6,308 deals last week. The stocks contributed 45.30 per cent and 69.11 per cent to the total equity turnover volume and value, respectively. Read more
U.S. budget suffers a deficit of $3.1 trillion in 2020, as pandemic slams the economy
The new White House data released evidently shows that the huge surge in spending to confront the economic fallout of the coronavirus pandemic fueled a historic increase in national debt; thereby, creating an unprecedented budget deficit. According to the exclusive government data released on Friday, the U.S. budget deficit eclipsed $3.1 trillion in the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30. WTO DG: Okonjo-Iweala gets the backing of 79 countries so far
Nigeria’s candidate for the vacant World Trade Organization (WTO) Director-General post, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has expressed confidence in her quest to lead the crisis-ridden global trade organization after all of Africa backed her candidacy, vowing she would champion reform. This disclosure was made by Nigeria’s former Finance Minister at a virtual press briefing on Friday, October 17, 2020, after 55-member African Union officially supported her over the sole remaining opponent, Yoo Myung-hee of South Korea. Fash was reported to have moved out of their matrimonial home weeks ago over the music star's infidelity.
