Rewane: #EndSARS protests have set economic recovery back by three months
Nigeria’s economy is projected to fall into a recession in 2020 and recover in 2021 due to the impact of COVID-19 lockdown and a drop in oil prices. Speaking at the monthly Lagos Business School’s (LBS) executive breakfast session themed ‘RE: ENDSARS – Class Struggle Versus Ethnic Conflict’, Rewane estimated that about $6 billion worth of imports will be needed to replace the inventory lost to attacks. #EndSARS: If unemployment is not addressed, protest may re-emerge – Senate President
The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, warns that the country may still witness another civil unrest if the government fails to effectively address the issue of youth unemployment. Senator Lawan made the statement on Monday during the budget defense session of the Ministry of Agriculture. Read more
President Buhari receives first COVID-19 vaccine, calls for equal distribution
President Muhammadu Buhari has received the first effective Coronavirus vaccineafter a successful human trial phase. This was disclosed by one of the President’s media aide, Garba Shehu in a statement issued on Monday. Read more
Dangote Cement given approval to export through land borders
The Nigerian government has given Dangote Cement the approval to export Cement to West Africa through Nigeria’s land borders, which have been closed for over a year. The cement manufacturer is the only company given such approval to export across the borders. This was disclosed in a report by Bloomberg on Monday evening after an investor call by Michel Puchercos, Dangote Cement CEO. Read more
Sony prepares to enter the drone game with Airpeak
Sony has announced that it is entering the drone market with a new brand called Airpeak, though the specifics of the drone itself are left something of a mystery. It plans to launch the project next spring. Read more
Pfizer, BioNTech say their Covid-19 vaccine is over 90% effective in phase 3 trial
Pfizer Inc had on Monday disclosed that its experimental vaccine which it is jointly developing with BioNTech was more than 90% effective in preventing COVID-19 based on initial data from a large study, in the ongoing phase 3 trials. This is a major victory in the fight against a pandemic that has killed over 1 million people, negatively impacted on the world’s economy and upended daily life. Read more

Nigerian rapper Sanni Goriola also known as Lil Frosh has yet again denied assaulting his girlfriend, Gift Camille. The rapper made this known while answering questions about the assault on his girlfriend on the podcast, ionwannatalkpodcast. Read more
Omah Lay signs to American record label
A few days ago, Pulse Nigeria gathered that Nigerian new kid on the block, Omah Lay has signed a recording contract with American record label, Warner Music Group. Already, Nigerian record label, Chocolate City has a deal with Warner Music Group that it announced in 2019. Grammy-nominated Nigerian superstar, Burna Boy is also signed to Atlantic Records which is a subsidiary of Warner Music Group. Read more
Nigerian Professional Football League to resume December 6
The Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) is set to resume on the 6th of December for the first time since the league was suspended because of the ravaging COVID-19 in early 2020. According to Vanguard, this was disclosed by the League Management Company (LMC) on Monday, which also revealed the fixtures for league resumption. Read more
