Emirates resumes daily flights on Lagos-Dubai route
The daily flight service became effective on November 1 from the initial four times weekly operated by the airline. In September, a ban placed on the airline was lifted after the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) agreed to commence visa issuance to Nigerians. At present, the UAE government is only issuing tourist visas to Nigerians. Read more

TheCable understands that BUA Cement got approval before Dangote Cement approached the government to be allowed to export cement through the land borders to Niger and Togo. Michel Puchercos, chief executive officer of Dangote Cement, had told investors on Monday that the company is now exporting cement in a controlled manner following the government’s approval. Union kicks as Azman Air sacks six pilots
Six pilots with Azman Air say they have been relieved of their duties for allegedly complaining about delayed October salaries. One cabin crew member and two ground staff were also affected. The National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE) has written to the airline’s management, giving it a seven-day ultimatum to reverse the action. Read more
‘It’s not a symbol of Islam’ — CBN defends Arabic inscriptions on naira notes
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has opposed a suit before the federal high court in Lagos seeking to remove Ajami (Arabic) inscriptions on the naira notes. CBN told the court that it will cost a lot of money to discard existing notes and print new ones without Ajami. It also said Ajami is not a symbol or mark of Islam, but an inscription to help non-English speakers who are Ajami literate. Read more

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has inaugurated the Oyo State Judicial Panel of Inquiry into Police Brutality, Violation of Rights of Citizens and Unlawful Killings. This disclosure was made by the Governor, in a statement which he made public via his official Twitter account today. Read more

An activist, Kenechukwu Okeke, has filed a criminal complaint before a Chief Magistrate’s court in Abuja against 50 #EndSARS promoters for their alleged roles in the protests, with the looting and destruction of properties, that took place last October. Read more
Nigeria’s Kuda raises Africa’s all-time seed round of $10 million
Despite the impact of the pandemic on businesses and income, fintechs in Africa have been in the spotlight recently, due to news of recent growth, acquisition and merger. In a recent development, Kuda, a Nigerian startup that operates a popular mobile-first challenger bank consumers, has announced raising $10 million. FG launches CDMS, to monitor power networks across Nigeria
The Federal Government through the Ministry of Power has launched the Central Data Management System (CDMS). CDMS is an online platform of the Nigerian Sustainable Energy for All(SE4ALL) that monitors power networks across the country. This is according to a report by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Read more

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad has described as fake claims that the Nigeria Police ordered the arrest of Kannywood actress, Rahama Sadau.
