Amazon’s next CEO, Andy Jassy, transformed e-commerce company into a cloud computing giant
Amazon said on Tuesday that Andy Jassy, who runs the cloud unit, will succeed Jeff Bezos as CEO of the parent company in the third quarter.
Jassy helped launch Amazon Web Services in 2006 and turned it into the dominant force in cloud infrastructure.
In Amazon’s earnings report, the company said AWS revenue increased 28% to $12.7 billion. Read more…
Exchange Rate: CBN agrees to settle February NDF at N412/$1
The Central Bank of Nigeria has revised its one-year Non-Deliverable Forwards (NDF) for which it intends to settle foreign exchange futures contracts for the period ending February 2021 to N452.82 up from N440.86.
The NDF is a closely watched indicator of the direction of the exchange rate in the future and is often referenced against the spot rate of the exchange rate between the naira and the dollar read more…
Google riding on hot steam, as earnings growth surges by 23%
Shares of Google‘s parent company, Alphabet, gained more than 7% during after-hours trading, after the world’s biggest online company reported 23% revenue growth and topped estimates for earnings.

AfCFTA: Promoting non-oil revenue will maximize agreement for Nigeria – NESG
The Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) has stated that the Federal Government needs to prioritize the promotion of non-oil revenue to maximize the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.

GameStop stock plummets
Shares of GameStop sank further on Tuesday, with shares of the volatile retail-trader favorite sliding 60% to finish at $90 per share.

Farmers' protest: India says Rihanna tweet 'irresponsible'
India has accused "foreign individuals" and celebrities of "sensationalism" after a tweet by US pop star Rihanna, extending support to protesting farmers, drew global attention.
