FG extends NIN-SIM linkage deadline by 8 weeks
The ongoing National Identification Number (NIN) and Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) integration exercise has been extended by eight weeks, with a new deadline of April 6, 2021.

Thousands of jobs at risk as Asos strikes Arcadia deal
Thousands of jobs remain at risk after online fashion retailer Asos struck a £295m deal to buy four brands from failed retail group Arcadia. Asos is buying the Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge and HIIT brands, but not the shops.
Asos is paying £265m for the brands and a further £30m for the stock.
About 300 people currently employed by the brands in design, buying and retail partnerships will transfer to Asos, read more….
PTF declares Kogi ‘high risk’ for COVID-19, warns against visiting state
The presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19, which announced the classification on Monday, warned Nigerians to be ware of visiting the state.
Yahaya Bello, the governor of Kogi state (pictured), is well known for refusing to acknowledge the existence of the disease which he calls a “fraud”.

Tony Momoh, former information minister, is dead
Momoh died at exactly 5pm on Monday after a brief illness.
He was the national chairman of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), one of the parties that were merged to form the All Progressives Congress (APC).

BP reports its first full-year loss in a decade after ‘brutal’ year
BP posted a full-year underlying replacement cost loss, used as a proxy for net profit/loss, of $5.7 billion. That compared with a net profit of $10 billion for the 2019 fiscal year.
Analysts polled by Refinitiv had expected a full-year net loss of $4.8 billion.

Nigeria to get 41 million Covid-19 vaccines from African Union – NPHCDA
The Nigerian government expects over 40 million vaccines from the African Union before the end of April, as it also expects to source vaccines from India and Russia.

First Oyo, now Ogun… Sunday Igboho vows to flush out herdsmen from Yorubaland
Sunday Adeyemo, a youth leader better known as Sunday Igboho, on Monday, visited Ogun to “flush out” killer herdsmen from the state.
Igboho made news headlines after he issued an ultimatum to Fulani herders in Ibarapa local government area of Oyo state.
His action had sparked tension in the state, leading to the destruction of properties in the area. His house in the Soka area of Ibadan was also torched, days after he went to Ibarapa to effect the quit notice. Read more…
Silento arrested: Watch Me rapper charged with murdering his cousin
Rapper Silento has been arrested and charged with the murder of his cousin.
DeKalb County Police Department confirmed that Silento, real name Ricky Hawk, was arrested on 1 February after his cousin, Frederick Rooks, was found shot dead on 21 January.
The 23-year-old had a hit with his single Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) in 2015, which reached No.3 in America and No.19 in the UK. Read more…
