Naija Corn Festival
With the resounding success that accompanied the 2021 edition of the Naija Corn Festival, HLTT Consult, a Lagos-based tourism development company, also known as Travel Begins at Home (TBAH), has unveiled programmes and plans for the 2022 edition of the Naija Corn Festival. The event is scheduled to take place at The BoardWalk Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos on July 9, 2022.
The Naija Corn Festival is an opportunity to showcase our indigenous food, a staple in most African homes. We will put a spotlight on the Tourism industry and grow the Agro sector by identifying a value chain for our dear Corn, also learning about business and investment opportunities around Corn. Farmers, travel consultants, travel enthusiasts, artists, and food vendors are all welcome to be a part of the event.
We aim to promote Agritourism as a new form of Tourism which is grossly underdeveloped in this region. Also, we want younger people to be involved in Agriculture, and support the SDG goals of eradicating poverty and food security.”
“We have a dream, to create new tourism attractions for Nigeria and Africa as a whole. Thus the introduction of our flagship event named “Naija Corn Festival” which we intend to develop and deliver at a global standard to attract visitors from all over the world. It will be an exciting time for families and friends to unwind and relax while series of events are taking place,” she added.
To enrich the one-day festival, the organizers have put together series of activities such as a film show; panel discussion; versation, and loads of corn meals to relish. Others Free Eating Competition, Free Cooking Competition and a dancing competition with loads of freebies to be won. There would also be different kinds of games and board games sections.
