Cybersecurity Toolkit for SMEs-A Soft Launch & Workshop
On Safer Internet Day, 8th February 2022, CyberSafe Foundation is set to launch a Cyber Security and Data Protection Toolkits for SMEs.
In a collaborative delivery model with the UK Government, KPMG, Cyber Safe Foundation and with support from other on the ground organizations, we are launching a toolkit to help bolster the cybercrime defenses of Nigerian Small Businesses.
SMEs are the foundation of Nigeria’s economy but there is limited cyber security guidance and standards for SMEs and 90% of African businesses are operating without the necessary cybersecurity protocols in place. In Nigeria, SMEs contribute 48% of national GDP, account for 98% of businesses, and 84% of employment. Therefore, Protecting SMEs from cyber harm is crucial for inclusive growth and poverty alleviation.
We will through this toolkit, trainings, and workshops, provide SMEs with awareness of cyber risks and access to, free and unrestricted tooling and guidance to support them in taking steps towards becoming more cyber resilient
